Sewing pattern: Danaé bodysuit/dress

The Danaé knit pattern is characterized by its close-fitting cut and boat neckline. It can be made as a bodysuit or a dress.

For the back, you have two options: a simple back or an asymmetric open back. Do you want to enjoy the asymmetric back without having an open back? Feel free to layer the asymmetric back over the simple back: and why not play with textures? For example, by using stretch lace for the simple back.

For the bottom, you have a choice:

• For the bodysuit: classic panty, high-cut, or thong. A snap button opening at the bottom is required to be able to put the bodysuit on.
• For the dress: the bottom is a mermaid-style skirt. You have two lengths: ankle or heel.

For the sleeves, four options are available to you: sleeveless, mini sleeves, short sleeves, or long sleeves. Like the rest of the model, the sleeves are simple and follow the line of the body to let all the focus fall on the back of the design, the sexiness of which is balanced by the boat neckline in the front. If you choose the simple back, you have a perfect basic to wear all year round, with variations in the sleeves.

To make this model as inclusive as possible, you can also sew an optional built-in bralette. For the open-back version, it provides light support, which makes a difference for those who prefer to feel supported. For the full-back version, the support is higher thanks to the use of wider elastic.

This model is intended for an intermediate sewing level. You will learn the following technical points:

• Sewing stretch fabrics
• Sewing with clear elastic (lastin)

You also have the necessary instructions to make the following adjustments: 

• Reduce or increase the length of your garment.
• Adapt the sewing pattern if you fall between two sizes.
• Adapt the asymmetric back if your ring has a different diameter.
• And many other techniques to take the sewing of this model even further.

You will receive the patterns in A4, US Letter, A0, and Projector formats with layer management to select the size you wish to print using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Projector format has two versions: one for light-colored fabrics and one for dark-colored fabrics. You will also receive an instruction booklet that will guide you step-by-step throughout the construction using detailed diagrams.

There are many variations of this model. To allow you to only print the pages relevant to the version you wish to sew, you will receive, upon downloading the PDF pattern, an editable Excel file with the page numbers to print for each version.
